Enrollment and degree information of most students is available on the UCSB Registrar’s website at no charge. This service is available for students whose records have been converted to our new computer system. This includes all students enrolled from 1990 and on (as well as many students from previous decades). Verification for student education prior to 1990 must be submitted to the National Student Clearinghouse at www.studentclearinghouse.org. The Online Verification of Student Status website is designed to be used by employers and businesses who just need to verify information without obtaining an official document. To access this information, it will be necessary to have the student’s last name and also two of these three pieces of information: first name, first five digits of the student’s social security number or birth day and month. Through this website, we can verify the student’s dates of attendance and status at UCSB, the student’s major and address information and the date the student’s degree was awarded.

Please note: Only students can request Grade-Point-Average verification for a third party.

Current students or those with an active BARC account may also order Official Verifications by accessing GOLD. The $10 fee will be billed to the student’s BARC account when ordered through GOLD. See below for various delivery options. Due to the volume of requests, please allow 3-5 working days for your verification to be processed.

If you wish to expedite the delivery of your verification or specify special handling for in-person pickup, the following Rush/Special Handling Services are available.(Click here for holiday and administrative closures which may delay rush services):

• Rush next day or Special handling in-person pickups. Available for $20 per verification (plus $10 per additional verification mailed to the same address or requested for special pick up). For Rush mailings, the Registrar will process and deposit your verifications into first class mail the next business day after receiving your request. For Special Handling in-person pickups, verifications can be picked up the next business day or later, up to 5 business days after it is ordered. After 5 days, if not picked up, these verifications will be mailed by first class mail. Photo Identification is required for in-person pickups. Special arrangements must be made in advance, if someone other than the student is being allowed to pick up the verification.

• Federal Express delivery. Available for $35 per address (plus an additional $10 per additional verification mailed to the same address). The Registrar will process and send your request via Federal Express the next business day after receiving your request.

• FAX delivery. Available for $20. The Registrar will process and fax your verification the next business day after receiving your request. The faxed copy is on white paper with the school seal but does not have the Registrar's signature. It may be considered official only at the discretion of the receiving party.

Federal law prohibits the release of private information without the student’s written consent.
